The latest project that’s catching the buzz on Kickstarter is another gaming gadget called Oculus Rift, that is designed to take your gaming to the next level.
Its being called the first truly immersive virtual reality headset for video games.
Despite having 28 days to go, the Oculus Rift project has already met its goal of $250,000 with a funding of over $1 million. Some of those backers are famous industry executives, including Valve Software President and Owner, Gabe Newell, and iconic programmer and Co-Founder of id Software, John Carmack.
As of now the gaming headset is expected to be bundled with a copy of Doom 3 BFG Edition.
Even though the consumer version of the Rift is still a ways down the road, the early developer kit’s hardware design is cutting edge, with technical specifications above and beyond other consumer headset available today.
